This gentleman recently started a business and had a hard time keeping the correct mindset. He was complaining about how his business was going and seemed like he was on the verge of giving up. So I simply posed the question to him like this…”Whats your definition of success?”. His answer was having money. Money is a good thing, however there is a HUGE difference between making money and having money. There are lot of people who make money, but they only have money once a year, which is normally after tax time. In order to put yourself in a position to have money, you have to have the correct mindset. The slightest shift in mindset can literally change your life.

So just keep in mind that if your mindset isn’t correct, then your business won’t be correct either. So do you care about your success? Overcoming Fear in Network Marketing

fearSo you have started a new business and you are so excited because you are going to make some great relationships and lots of money as well. So you get everything together, go to all the meetings, listen to all the phone calls, and then it happens………You are ready to get rich but you forgot one small thing. You are terrified to talk to people about your business.

I have seen so many people become so fearful that they might make a mistake of that people will judge them for what they are doing that they actually quit and go back to working in job they don’t like, to produce an income that doesn’t allow them to live the life they want when all that had to do was to overcome their fear! I am serious!!!!

Do you have fears that stop you MLM? You have to overcome your inhibitions. Get over it. If you have fears, the only thing stopping you is you. Want something? You must go out and get it. Many network marketers make the mistake, of creating excuses for themselves. That is just fear stopping you.

Whether we are speaking in respects to acquiring business partners or customers- network marketing is clearly a numbers game, and rejection is part of it. Do not let it stop you. The more you get out of your shell, the more people you will network with.  Eventually rejection will become insignificant to you. Talk to everyone.

Network Marketing – how to overcome your fear?

  1. Firstly you must understand this is nothing to do with anything outside of you. And the really good news is you don’t need anything outside of you, everything you need you already have, you just need to exercise it!
  2. For your very first step, revisit why you actually want to be successful in Network Marketing, and I mean really revisit it take some time to think about and visualize what your life will be like when you have achieved your Network Marketing goals .
  3. If you joined your Network Marketing business because you don’t like your job or don’t have enough money I highly suggest you start looking at things at little differently. I will show you want I mean: If you are saying I don’t like my job and I want to get out of it (looking at the negative – this is an in effective way to look at things because like attracts like so if you think from the negative you must attract other negative!) turn it around to saying something like this: I really like the idea of working for myself and being my own boss. (looking at the positive – remember like attracts like so positive thoughts attract positive thoughts attract positive results!) then list all the things you believe you will enjoy being in your own business
  4. Take action today be willing to let yourself learn. Be willing to fail and to make mistakes because once you learn what not to do you know what to do right? So fail your way to success
  5. Rinse and repeat: Everyone who ever succeeded in Network Marketing failed at some point, so start appreciating what you do achieve and don’t get caught up with the romantic notion that you are going to wake up one morning be top of your pay plan without doing anything it isn’t going to happen. Just think about it if it did how would you train your Network Marketing Team and help them become successful if you have never done it yourself?

It is normal to feel fear! Fear is just a way of letting you know that you are stepping outside of your comfort zone, and once you step outside your comfort zone you really begin to grow so celebrate fear and harness its energy to help you learn what you need to know!

Objections got you down?

handling-objections-in-salesDoes this picture seem familiar? Is that how you feel after getting objections from your potential business partners? Believe me I know how you feel. I used to feel exactly like this which is probably why I am bald today lol. Objections are one of the main reasons people feel like they are afraid to get involved in such a great industry as ours. That fear of trying to convince someone to buy something or join your team is enough to drive anyone crazy.

Newsflash!!!! It just doesn’t have to be that way.

Objections are an inevitability with recruiting in network marketing. Even some of your most serious prospects will have objections just prior to signing up.

It’s actually a good sign because they are either 1) slowing down the process to ensure they understand everything before they make that big decision or 2) they are testing you to evaluate your strength as a  good sponsor and that you are the leader they are seeking.

Here are some important points in handling objections:

  • Neutralize Objections-always validate their objection by complimenting and/or agreeing with the prospect’s concerns. This acts to decrease the objections potency. Good Objection Phrases can be: “I can respect that.” “I can appreciate that.” “Thanks for sharing that concern.” “That’s exactly how I felt when I first started.
  • You can actually bring up the objection yourself before the prospect does, thereby deflecting it before it even occupies their mind.
  • Assume the sale.
  • Always make sure you have appropriately went through a ‘discovery process’ with your new prospect. This is a process where you build rapport and gain their trust as well as recognize their ‘why’.
  • When possible, reply to their questions and concerns with a question. As long as you are the one doing the asking, you will hold all the power.

Now here are a few examples of what you can do when faced with objections:

1) How much money are you making?

Best Response: “It’s not about how much money I am making, it’s about how much money you are capable of earning.”

This focuses the question back onto them. You want them to know it is irrelevant whether you are making $200 or $20,000/month, what is relevant is the kind of success they can obtain. Stress the opportunity, if they can see that it is a great opportunity than you have them sold.  Their success is limited only by their own limitations, not someone elses and that is the beauty of being in business for themselves.

2) I don’t have the time.

Make their objection become their reason.

You can ask, “If you keep doing what you are currently doing, do you think that over the next 5 years you will have either more or less time?  With network marketing you can leverage your time through the efforts of others.”

or, “If I can show you a way to get some of your time back by leveraging the efforts of others, would you be willing to carve out 7-10 hours per week towards this goal?”

or, “Prior to joining this business, someone once asked me what the definition of insanity was. They told me it is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Do you agree with this definition?”

or, “Do you want to continue spending all your time building someone elses dreams or is it time you devoted your precious time towards building your own dreams?

3) I don’t like to sell or I don’t know how to sell.

“That’s great because neither do I! We encourage people to hand out tools to do the talking for them with a professionally crafted presentation. You are the messenger, not the message.”

or, “Did you ever mention a great restaurant or movie to a friend? Did you ever get paid for the recommendation? Our business will pay you for recommending something that you already believe in and which holds value to you.”

or, “The other part of our business is about coaching and working with and inspiring a team. Would you have any problems inspiring others if it were to directly benefit you financially?”

4) Is this a pyramid scheme?

Edify your company through third party validation. Emphasize the sustainability and soundness of your business and financial model.

A great way around this objection is to outline the similarities network marketing has with the business models of the insurance and real estate industries.

You could mention famous people who have been involved in, actively promote or started network marketing companies in recent years: Robert Kiyosaki (see “Business of the 21st Century”), Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson-all are billionaires thanks to network marketing.

The key is just being prepared for when they arise, and practice, practice, practice. The more comfortable you are with handling common objections the more at ease and confident you will come across.

Got leads? Where to find free leads

As a network marketer we hear all the time make your list of all your friends and family. Warm market, warm market, warm market. Well the reality sometimes is that our “warm” market just isn’t warm sometimes. I have been experiencing much more success talking to my cold market as opposed to my warm market.

The purpose of this post is to help jog your mind as to where you can find people like you who are looking for an opportunity to make some extra income but aren’t walking around with a sign on their back that says “I am looking for an opportunity”. Hopefully these examples will help you get creative in coming up with other ways to find people to talk to.

1. Cork Boards Grocery Store, Car Wash) – One thing I have learned is that the people who post on cork boards are just like me. Looking to expose their business, liked minded individuals who are open to multiple streams of revenue. Well why not grab as many cards as possible and start calling.

2. Warm Market Referrals – One of the tricks I learned was most of my warm market is more interested in seeing how much money I make before they decide to get involved. To me that’s great because it allows me to come to them and instead of asking if they are interested in making extra money, I can ask them if they know people who are interested in additional income. This actually works in my favor because once their referral starts to get excited and make some money, that warm market referrer starts to ask questions about getting involved.

3. For sale? – Ever see these sign’s in your neighborhood? This is a great chance to talk to someone who is business minded, knows the power of networks and understands the value of residual income. Whenever I pass a sign I immediately write that number down and call them ASAP. What’s the worst that could happen? They say no? Oh we’ll I get a referral instead. Believe me this is a great way to meet some potential leaders.

There are so many other ways to find people to talk to. If you are determined to win in your business you will use these and many more ways to get the job done. Stay tuned because I will be coming back with more sources for leads and also some techniques on closing the sale.

The #1 Thing you need to have to be successful in Network Marketing

I can’t express how important it is to get into a business mindset. I have seen it far too often. Network marketers often get started with their business because they see it as a quick and easy solution to their financial problems. Many even see the possibilities of financial freedom that building a business in network marketing can bring.

Financial freedom is possible but it is not as easy as setting up a web site and expecting prospects and money to automatically start rolling in. It takes consistent, persistent, DAILY work. The business mindset is at the center of everything you do in your business. If you don’t have a business mindset, you won’t have any success in network marketing. (I’m so serious)

While you are in the business mindset, you also need to think about working your business like you work a JOB.

Ask yourself this question: Would your boss keep you around if you worked your job the way you work your Network Marketing business?

The problem with a home based business is that, since you are your own boss, you can choose to do or not do the daily tasks that are required for success. On a JOB, you have a daily method of operation. If you want to keep your job and thus, earn a living, you must show up for work. Not only that, you must arrive on time.

Even if you don’t feel great, you show up and put in a day’s work.

Even if you aren’t paid very well, you show up and put in a day’s work.

Even if people around you are negative, you show up and put in a day’s work.

Even if you HATE your job, you show up and put in a day’s work.

While you are on the job, you must be efficiently working and producing according to the requirements set out by your employer. If you don’t do that, you get FIRED! 

Now, think about how you are functioning in your network marketing business. Would you, as the CEO of your business, hire someone who functions like you or would you fire them? 

If people were to put the same type of energy and discipline in their Network Marketing business as they do in their jobs, they would be insanely rich.

It’s very important to have a serious business mindset while also, Daily operations LIKE A JOB.

How to Win in Network Marketing

Have you ever wondered how the top earners actually earn the BIG BUCKS? There are several variables in this equation, however one of the main reasons the people at the top are so successful is because they consistently recruit LEADERS.

Sometimes it cracks me up how people will advertise every last detail of their network marketing business opportunity, all the way down to the molecular structure of their products–but the only thing you know about the person doing the advertising is their name, phone number and e-mail address–and that’s if you’re lucky!

The fact is prospects usually care more about the person presenting the product than they care about the product itself. When I was starting in network marketing I wanted to know if the person behind the ad or the webpage was somebody likeable and worth working with. My main question was could they help me succeed in my business?

Most people looking into network marketing businesses are thinking the same thing. That’s why the number one reason someone will join your team is you–how you act, what you say and who you are–not your product or service.

Ask yourself this:

    • Are you someone worth following?
    • Do you have passion?
    • Do you have vision?
    • Do you have an objective (other than “make more money”)?
    • Are you constantly improving yourself?
    • Are you open to learning new skills and enhancing your current skills?
  • Can you mentor others?

If you feel like you might be lacking in any of these qualities, are these areas you’re willing to make an effort to improve? If so (and you actually make those improvements), that is a characteristic of a leader.

Success in network marketing isn’t just about how many products you sell. And it’s not only about how many people you recruit–it’s about how many people you help raise up to a higher level than where they were before you met them.

The surprising truth is that long-term network marketing success is largely based on how many leaders you find and develop, more than on how many products you personally sell.

At their core, all super-successful network marketers are great trainers. Likewise, most great network marketing trainers have constantly growing network marketing businesses–and that’s not a coincidence!

So to recap,  If you want to win in this game, instead of trying to work on others you should really be working on yourself. That is unless you are already a LEADER.
